Metadata documents
The JSON documents a publisher writes and anchors on chain.
These are the off-chain documents the protocol anchors: the exact bytes uploaded
to metadataUri are the bytes hashed into metadataHash, with no
canonicalisation step in between.
A document records its own version in its schema field, as a per-kind
versioned URI. That field — not the schema file's $id, which is deliberately
unversioned and never resolved over the network — is the single source of truth
for which version a document was written against.
Before mainnet, schemas evolve in place at 1.0 rather than bumping. A
document validated against 1.0 today may not validate against 1.0
tomorrow. The bump discipline begins at launch, once anchored documents must
stay valid against the exact URI they declared.
